Text messages attributed to Gavin Wax, obtained from his personal phone, show that he gladly and gleefully leaked internal Young Republican chat logs to Politico reporter Jason Beeferman, a registered Democrat and rabid anti-Trump hater. The leaked messages became the basis of a September 2025 Politico article that led to widespread fallout within the organization, including firings, resignations, dissolutions of Young Republican chapters, and life ruination.
According to multiple GOP sources and a notarized affidavit by Trump administration official Michael Bartels, Wax allegedly pressured others to provide access to the 28,000-member “Restore YR” Telegram chat and supplied Beeferman with contact information for several members. Bartels claims he was threatened with professional retaliation if he did not cooperate.
The White House reportedly received these materials in early October 2025 and asked Wax to retract the information before publication. Wax has not commented publicly on the allegations, nor has he taken responsibility for the destruction that he caused. Vice President JD Vance later defended the Young Republicans targeted in the Politico article by Wax, describing the outrage over the leaked chat as “pearl clutching” and arguing that Democrats had engaged in far worse conduct. Vance and the administration have quietly tried to distance themselves from Wax with public statements and through internal conversations.

Following the Politico chaos caused by Wax, he resigned from his position as chairman of the New York Young Republican Club (NYYRC) immediately. Club president Stefano Forte confirmed the resignation, stating that Wax was no longer affiliated with the organization. The episode marked the end of Wax’s tenure. Several Wax allies have claimed he’s innocent, but many point to this as a CLEAR admission of guilt.

Public records and archived op-eds show that Wax aligned with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis following January 6, 2021. He later deleted or retracted several of those statements. Reports suggest Wax’s changing support from DeSantis to Trump may have been tied to personal or financial incentives linked to campaign work. Many point to this as a CLEAR sign of grifting.
Connection to Senator Chuck Schumer
In a 2024 social media post, Senator Chuck Schumer shared a photo celebrating Holocaust survivor Pina Frassineti Wax, describing her as a “living legend.” Gavin Wax, who is related to her, appeared in the photo with Schumer. While Wax has publicly criticized Schumer in the past, this image begs the question: is Wax secretly close with the anti-Trump New York Senator? Is his rhetoric against Schumer tied to grifting?
Wax’s Disdain Toward MAGA Loyalist Laura Loomer
Wax has also been involved in a continued public dispute with MAGA loyalist and friend of President Trump, Laura Loomer. He has accused Loomer of harassment and of spreading personal rumors about him after he declined to date her. Loomer, in turn, has criticized Wax publicly on social media for these allegations. Why would Gavin Wax be taking shots at President Trump’s number one attack dog?
Ironic: Wax’s Involvement in a “Racist” Group Chat
Between 2014 and 2017, Wax oversaw a Facebook group linked to The Liberty Conservative, a publication he founded. Reports later revealed that the chat contained offensive language and racist remarks by some participants, including discussions that Wax, as moderator, occasionally responded to. Wax escaped this controversy unscathed, but chose to leak a group chat of a similar theme to a leftist reporter to “settle a score”. Seems overboard and unhinged!
Wax’s Current Role and Continuing Questions

Despite him leaking communications, internal disputes, and shifting political loyalties from DeSantis to President Trump, he remains employed in this senior government role with a Top Secret security clearance. Neither the State Department nor the White House has issued a public statement regarding the allegations or his continued tenure.
